Additional Information: A combination of things make this so deceptive. The cage sits on a table top which makes up a good inch and half of the required 2 and half inches of space for the birds. An inch of that is hidden in the chrome horizontal support under the table top. The rest of the hiding space is within the hinge area, and the hinges sit right on the table top. When the sides fall, they do not fall perpendicular to the floor, but rather at a slightly less than horizontal angle (due to the table top) which again gives the effect of "no place for the birds". This table top utilized the "step base" method of illusion base design in such a beautiful way, that it appears to be no more than 3/4" thick.

Because of the superior design of the rabbit load space, ample room has been devoted to the floor area to keep your rabbit's center of gravity on the table. We have never heard of a rabbit falling off the table with this prop! Additionally, the rabbit's area is covered in a high quality marine vinyl for quick and easy clean up, (should the bunny decide to "do his business" in the prop). This vinyl covering also eliminates any possibility of the rabbit getting a toe caught as the flap falls. The entire prop is also covered in Formica which of course cleans up beautifully.

The birds have been given 13 inches of perch. Since the prop measures 17 inches wide, this keeps the birds away from the very sides, thus preventing wings from being caught in the flap as it falls.
