A House of Magic Illusion
Standing on stage is a sort of cupboard without front doors. The lady assistant steps inside the left hand compartment and the magician takes a drawer without either top or bottom and pushes this drawer into the lower compartment, occupying one third of the left hand space. There is a small hole at the bottom of the drawer and through this the assistant pushes her foot.
A second drawer, again without top or bottom, is slid on top of the lower one. This drawer has a small door which is opened and the assistant's tummy can be seen. The door is then closed.
Finally a third drawer without top or bottom is pushed into the top space and through the hole provided, the assistant pushes her hand, moving her fingers about to show that it is a real hand.
Showing six large metal blades these are taken one at a time and pushed through the top and bottom of each drawer, dividing the assistant, so it seems into three separate parts.
Despite all this the audience see the hand and foot move and the door is opened in the center section and the girl's tummy can be seen.
Now the magician takes away the center section and places it in a similar position on the right hand side of the cupboard. Despite all this, the assistant still moves her fingers about. Her boot can be seen thorough the hole in the lower section (which is still on the the left hand side of the cupboard) and when the door in the center section is opened the audience can see her tummy.
The magician then takes away the lower drawer and places it in a similar position on the right side of the cupboard. The fingers continue to move,. The foot is still in place and the tummy can be seen!
Finally the top drawer is taken away and placed in a similar position on the right side of the cupboard. The fingers still move, the foot and also the tummy can be seen.
Now for the climax. All the metal blades are withdrawn, the drawers pulled out and there stands the lady all in one piece on the right hand side of the cupboard.
